Site Preparation
We begin by clearing the area, removing any existing surface or vegetation to ensure a clean, stable base for your new driveway.
Excavation
The ground is excavated to the required depth, taking into account drainage and sub-base needs to prevent future sinking or movement.
Sub-base Installation
A compacted layer of hardcore is laid to form a strong, load-bearing foundation that ensures long-term durability
Edge Restraints
Sturdy edging blocks are installed and secured in concrete to define the driveway’s shape and keep the paving firmly in place.
Laying the Blocks
High-quality blocks are laid in your chosen pattern over a bed of sharp sand, carefully aligned to create a smooth, attractive finish.
Finishing & Compaction
Once the blocks are laid, kiln-dried sand is brushed into the joints and the surface is compacted, locking everything firmly into position.

Driveway in Exeter
As you can see this project involved quite a steep sloped drive – not the easiest, but the end result is clean, tidy, and practical. We’ve used grey block pavers for a modern look that works beautifully.
